Jason’s Journey

Printed & Visual Works

My journey into visual design began on the job, when I offered to help a Graphic Designer with her overload of work. She generously shared her knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, and I discovered a type of work I could easily lose myself in. I’ve always enjoyed arranging visuals, and now I had the tools to turn imagination into something shareable. I strive to match images with the concept I want to convey — ensuring the design carries the story.

Memory Encoded

A reflection of how I experience thought as music-like vibrations rather than words; memories are stored in song, and language is a translation out of that natural rhythm.

Me-Shirt: The Magic Inside

Part of my “Me-Shirts” series — screen printed in reverse, designed to be read only by the person wearing it when looking in a mirror.

Neurospicy Friendship

I’ve always resonated with Spock — and when I learned in Star Trek: Discovery that Spock is neurodivergent, it all clicked. So of course, I had to create a shirt design to celebrate his sincere friendships!

Boldly Brewed

Commissioned to celebrate Captain Janeway’s visit on the Star Trek Cruise alongside other series members. Since Janeway is famous for her love of coffee, this design was created to honor her — and her fans’ shared joy in boldly brewed adventures.

Of course, I’ve also enjoyed creating the PQ Podcast logo and marketing visuals, which reflect the same energy of creativity and professional equity that guide my work today.

Selected Creative Video Work

  • Mute Your Commute
  • Baby Powder
  • Car Plant
  • Snack Attack
  • Throw That DE in the Trash

My video production journey began with a simple question: “How can I make a positive impact doing what I love?” The first answer came through GreenTipGuy, a playful approach to sustainability and learning. From the very beginning, I discovered that sometimes the most effective way to reach people was through sincerity, and other times it was through humor, music, or even a bit of parody.

With Mute Your Commute, I leaned into sincerity — hoping to inspire an inner-company movement during “Green Week.” The message was simple but serious: give sustainable travel a try by taking public transit, riding a bike, or carpooling. It was a heartfelt attempt to show how small choices could create big impact if we made them together.

Soon after, I realized that sometimes a message sticks best when it makes people smile. Is Talcum Powder Safe? embodied that philosophy — lighthearted, quirky, and still one of my favorites. Humor can disarm resistance and make a lesson unforgettable long after the laughter fades.

Pushing myself creatively, I experimented with new forms of storytelling. Car Plant became one of my first ventures into songwriting — a musical green tip brought to life with patience, imagination, and an autoharp.

Then came my video recipe for Healthy Fruit & Nut Snack, born from the idea that eating healthy doesn’t have to feel difficult. Through recipe-style videos, I wanted to show that nutritious choices — like a simple fruit-and-nut snack — could be both fun and accessible. It was another way of connecting lifestyle, creativity, and sustainability in a format people could use immediately.

Perhaps the most unexpected lesson came with Throw That DE in the Trash. Diatomaceous Earth (DE) always drew the strongest responses — fans swore by it while critics dismissed it as “trash.” Instead of ignoring the negativity, I leaned into it with a parody, showing how DE could be effective even when tossed in the garbage. It was playful, but it also reinforced a deeper truth: sometimes creativity is the best response to criticism.

Along the way, I learned that every new project was more than just a video. It was a chance to test a new tone, try a new format, or engage people in a fresh way. From humor to music, recipes to parodies, these projects became my training ground for video production, storytelling, and creative resilience.

Jason's journey has been a creative one all along.
